Role of HURIDOCS trainers
Who is part of the trainers pool?
- Persons who have been trained at a HURIDOCS train-the-trainers event, or have co-animated with HURIDOCS training courses.
- Former interns at the HURDOCS secretariat (professional internships, also student internships)
- Resource persons who are specialized in a particular field, and can provide training on this (women’s rights and statistical analysis of violations are two examples)
What does a HURIDOCS trainer do?
Members of the trainers pool:
- Train users of HURIDOCS tools within their own
organizations, and provide advice and support in areas related documentation
methodology (WinEvsys in particular)
- Participate in trainings organized by HURIDOCS as lead trainer, co-trainer, or resource person, or keynote speaker
- Train other human rights organizations in the use of these tools.
What types of training projects?
To do the latter, trainers identify training needs of other organizations in their geographic region or thematic area of work. This can lead to concrete training projects:
- The trainer can organize the a training course and deliver it with minimal support from HURIDOCS. In this case the trainer will organize the course directly with the organization receiving the training. HURIDOCS can support from a distance by providing the manuals and training tools, or identifying co-trainers from the pool.
- The trainer can involve HURIDOCS from the start. The training will then become a project between HURIDOCS and the local partner (most often the organization being trained). In such a case, the trainer will participate as trainer, and help organize the course.
