Micro-Thesauri

last modified 2006-10-24 11:37

Created and adapted by Judith Dueck, Manuel Guzman and Bert Verstappen, HURIDOCS 2001

The Micro-Thesauri are a unique and valuable collection of documents developed by HURIDOCS or adapted from various sources. The Micro-thesauri are intended for use in conjunction with the HURIDOCS Standard Formats manuals, and in particular with the HURIDOCS events standard formats: a tool for documenting human rights violations. Also organisations engaged in other types of documentation may want to use and adapt some of the Micro-thesauri.
The contents of the Micro-thesauri are based on new developments, earlier work by HURIDOCS, input from members of the HURIDOCS network, and work by other organisations including the United Nations, the International Labour Organisation, the International Organisation for Standardisation, the International Refugee Documentation Network and the Minority Rights Group. Many of the Micro-thesauri, however, have evolved from the use of grassroots NGOs.

For further information about the purpose and structure of the Micro-thesauri, read the Introduction.
