This book aims to raise awareness about existing human rights standards that relate particularly to core library values, information ethics and glocal information justice. It seeks to encourage library and information workers to participate in dialogues, decision-making and practice to promote the amelioration of social problems. The book has two main parts. The first part deals with the rhetoric (the context of 21st century librarianship and the moral responsibilities of library and information workers). The second part deals with the reality (practical strategies for social action, manifestations and forms of social action related to library and information work).
