BOBCATSSS is an annual symposium organised by students at a number of universities in Europe. It takes place under the auspices of EUCLID (European Association for Library and Information Education and Research) and deals with themes from library and information science. BOBCATSSS 2008 will take place from 28 to 30 January in Zadar, Croatia. Access to information is vital for the personal and social growth of every individual. However, many people are facing barriers in accessing information, whether they are technical issues, political and legal issues, social issues or economical issues. The goal of the BOBCATSSS 2008 symposium is to explore access to information for everyone from the technical, political and legal, social and economical point of view. The symposium would like to identify the existing barriers in accessing information and to offer an overview of new concepts, ideas and examples of good practice in order to raise awareness and achieve possible solutions. 1 January - Extended Deadline for Submissions for ASIS&T PhD Forum 14 January - End of Registration For more details, see http://www.bobcatsss2008.org/ where you can also register online, or write to shop@bobcatsss2008.org
