Subject: EIDHR Call for Proposals on Torture

The European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights of the European Union
just launched its first 2007 Call for Proposals (on the subject of
"Torture").

 

It expects to launch the other planned 2007 Calls, which will be launched by
EuropeAID headquarters, within the next few weeks.

 

Potential candidates can consult its website at:

Calls for Proposals are published at (also reached by the link "calls for
proposals" in the previous web page): 

http://ec.europa.eu/europeaid/cgi/frame12.pl 

 

To reach the relevant information on calls for proposals, please apply the
following procedure: 

1) on your left select "By programme": 

- maintain "OTHER"

- under "STATUS": click on "OPEN" if you are looking for an ongoing call

- under "TYPE": click on "Grant" 

- click on "SUBMIT QUERY" 

2) on your right: scroll down until the relevant EIDHR calls for proposals
appear

 

The total indicative amount available under this Call for Proposals is EUR
22 million from the 2007 budget, subject to the adoption of the relevant
financing decision (2007 Annual Action Programme)..

 

Indicative allocation of funds by lot:

Lot 1: Prevention of torture 30%

Lot 2: Rehabilitation of victims of torture 70%.

 

The deadline for submission of Concept Notes is 27 December 2007.
