The Pandia newsletter contains a great review of LibraryThing at: http://www.pandia.com/sew/535-librarything.html However, the review neglects to mention that LibraryThing isn't just a social networking site or for cataloging and organizing personal libraries; library staff are using LibraryThing to catalog (and "tag") their small, specialized collections using data from from amazon.com, Library of Congress, and many other libraries. LibraryThing not only offers open cataloging tools but accessibility to library users. For example, - LibraryThing | Holden Reading Room http://www.librarything.com/profile/HoldenReadingRoom - LibraryThing | Information Resource Center - American Embassy, Buenos Aires http://www.librarything.com/profile/IRCBuenosAires - LibraryThing | Campus Center for Appropriate Technology (CCAT) of Humboldt State University, Arcata, California. http://www.librarything.com/profile/ccat Take a tour of LibraryThing at: http://www.librarything.com/tour/ Susan -- Susan L.
