The Humanist Committee on Human Rights (HOM) is pleased to announce the
completion of the latest phase of Human Rights Impact Resource Centre
(HRIRC). The new version contains many new features and extends the contents
of the human rights impact assessment publications database. We kindly
invite you to have a look at the Resource Centre at
www.humanrightsimpact.org to see and experience these latest developments.

What you will see can be divided into two sections, namely the new features
available at the Resource Centre and secondly the further development of the
Resource Centre.

To sum these briefly:

- New features available at the HRIRC: the Resource Centre now
offers the opportunity for individuals to directly contribute material to
the HRIRC. With this new feature you can register and submit books, reports,
journal articles, manuals, evaluations and other material for the inclusion
in the Publications database. The contribution of various users will
contribute greatly to the diversification of the information available on
the Resource Centre. The process is easy; to submit a publication you first
register as a HRIRC user. This can be done using the online registration
form found at http://www.humanrightsimpact.org/top/register/. Once your
application has been processed, you will be able to submit publications
relating to human rights impact assessment. A user manual on how to add
publications is also available which will guide you step by step. This is
found at
http://www.humanrightsimpact.org/fileadmin/hria_resources/user_guidelines.pd
f. We highly encourage you to become a registered user and start adding
publications to the Resource Centre.

- Further improvements of the HRIRC: a number of aspects of the
Resource Centre have been worked upon. The search engine has been extended,
with three search options now available; users can search the entire
Resource Centre, look for a specific publication, or search the entire web
using the Hurisearch tool. The latest news section has been refined, and can
now be viewed on the HRIRC homepage. Furthermore, improvements have been
made regarding the layout of the Resource Centre to make it more
user-friendly. This has been achieved by ensuring consistency, providing the
opportunity to change the text font, and making navigation easier.

We would like to invite you to fill in the questionnaire as an opportunity
to provide feedback on the new features and content of the HRIRC. The survey
can be accessed at

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=BEcfslsat_2fRoHNTdGWbPeg_3d_3d and
will take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. We kindly ask you to fill
in the survey at your earliest convenience however no later than Monday 24th
of September. Your input is highly important for the future development and
changes of the HRIRC.

Should you require further information or have any questions, comments,
suggestions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your attention and we hope that you will enjoy the new version
of the HRIRC.

With kind regards,

Baldwin Beenakkers

On behalf of the HRIRC Team
