Translations
HURIDOCS is looking for volunteers to translate tools into more languages or help with software development and updates, such as adding new features to WinEvSys. If you wish to help, please contact Bert Verstappen, at info@huridocs.org.
Student internships
The HURIDOCS Secretariat in Switzerland offers unpaid internships to students interested in human rights information and documentation. Depending on the background of the intern, tasks may include translations, public relations and outreach work, working on databases, updating the HURIDOCS main website and HuriSearch search engine, helping produce training materials. Interns will also learn how to use the tool WinEvSys for documenting human rights violations.Qualifications / attributes:
- University education, preferrably with a human rights focus
- A strong interest in the field of human rights.
- Self-motivated, quickly autonomous, precise, methodical.
- Able to finance your stay in Switzerland, and obtain a visa.
- Preference will be given to interns with language skills useful to HURIDOCS, such as Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Chinese.
- Preference will be given to student interns who can stay for six months or more.
- Good knowledge of office software such as Word and Powerpoint (even limited experience with Access and Excell will also be useful).
