Partners
While HURIDOCS provides tools, techniques and training to many smaller non-governmental organisations in developing countries, it has also managed to build up working relations with a large number of intergovernmental organisations, human rights institutes and international non-governmental organisations. This collaboration can take various forms: joint projects, participation in each others’ conferences and meetings, advice and support, consultancies etc. Read some examples of partnerships.
Intergovernmental organisations
- Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations,
- Operational Relations Status with UNESCO
- Observer Status with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights.
HURIDOCS also has long-standing working relationships with various other organisations, including:
- the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
- the European Court on Human Rights and the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture of the Council of Europe
- Tolerance and Non-Discrimination Program of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Human rights institutes
HURIDOCS has long-standing working relationships with various National Human Rights Institutes, e.g.:
- Institute for Human Rights at Abo Akademi in Finland
- Netherlands Institute for Human Rights (University of Utrecht)
- Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (Lund University)
International non-governmental organisations
HURIDOCS has long-standing working relationships with various international non-governmental organisations, including:
- Amnesty International – International Secretariat in London and the national Dutch section in particular
- Human Rights Education Associates
- International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (Copenhagen)
Thematic documentation networks
HURIDOCS supports networks such as:
- Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW-AP, a regional network undertaking documentation of violence against women)
- Documentary Network of Indigenous Peoples (doCIP)
- International Torture Documentation Network (ITDN)
