HURIDOCS is a global capacity-building network of organisations that use documentation techniques, monitoring methods, information management systems and technologies in the defence of human rights and the prevention of abuses.
HURIDOCS seeks a
Project Manager for projects in the former Soviet Union (60% position)
The Project Manager is responsible for the development and follow-up of projects related to information management for human rights NGOs in the former Soviet Union.
His/her tasks include: consultations with clients and donors; proposal formulation; field missions, representation and networking coordination of experts and production of deliverables; tracking of implementation and quality control; coordination of experts and production of deliverables; narrative and financial reporting; evaluation.
The Project Manager will be based at the HURIDOCS Secretariat in Versoix near Geneva and reports to the Executive Director of HURIDOCS.
Required competences, skills and experiences
- Proven experience in managing projects with a duration of at least six months and a budget of at least 50,000 USD
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Russian
- Knowledge of human rights
- Knowledge of the political context and the human rights situation in the former Soviet Union, preferably through work or study stay within the region.
- Work experience in a non-governmental human rights organisation
- Proven experience in projects related to information management and/or social research
- Good representation and communication skills
- Availability to carry out field missions
- Valuable work permit for Switzerland
- Age: preferably between 25 and 37 years
